Introduction to Effective Writing

Back in April 2010, we were asked to give our Reaction/Reflection, on a short homework essay from our textbook written by Jo Goodwin Parker entitled, “What is Poverty?” The very essence of that essay captured and touched emotions and places in my soul that were shoved to the back-burner hoping to never be explored again. With all those buried emotions now flowing through my veins, I was able to write a reaction to “What is Poverty?” For example “We glutton ourselves daily not only with food, but with over-priced clothing, shoes, handbags, and driving fancy imported cars from Germany.” For this section, we were asked to showcase a piece that demonstrates our ability to write effectively. And that is why I chose this paper, which I feel best represents that ability.
